Lost JFLOW Jewelry - Madeira Beach Florida
Here are some of the premade jewelry pieces I lost when Hurricane Helene slammed the Gulf Coast of Madeira Beach, Florida. The storm surge and flood waters busted in the double doors of our shop Spigg Island located on Madeira Way in September of 2024... with it, it took our a sense of our livelihood, our investments and a HUGE piece of our hearts. Like others in our community, we were devastated by the aftermath of the storm. Our area was ravaged. So many businesses and homes were damaged beyond repair. Our community was unrecognizable in areas and many were left homeless and out of work. Still to this day clean up efforts are being made. But on the flip side of the coin, it has been amazing to see everyone come together and slowly rebuild. We all lost so much. I lost 5+ years of my life investing in becoming a silversmith in just a few short hours of the storm ripping through our area. It was almost like I lost a piece of myself not being able to create anymore and not have any source of income. These aren't just any ordinary pieces of jewelry, they were handcrafted by me. One of a kind pieces made with intention and love. Each piece of my silver jewelry was hand stamped with the imprint JFLOW .
I wanted to post this in efforts by chance any of my LOST jewelry was found in the Madeira Beach area, I don't want them back but I would like you to know a little about where they came from. Everything has a story right? I am a native to the StPete area, lived out on Madeira Beach since I was a kid. I grew up in Johns Pass Village and managed a few stores on Village Blvd in my earlier years. I love the Gulf Beaches, Gulf Coast saltwater courses through my veins. I became a self employed artist a few years back after my hubby opened his Crystal & Rock shop...it was our dream and slice of paradise. I absolutely adored meeting visitors from all over the world in our little store. It was here that my silversmithing journey started. Tourist and locals alike, would stop by and get to know us on a personal level... we made so many friends near and far. Visitors would pick out there very own stone of their choice from our shop and after a short discussion of design we would create a magical, memorable piece of jewelry for them or a loved one to commemorate their trip to our beautiful area. It was so special for them and for us too!
We are rebuilding our business from the ground up literally... we have relocated to Seminole Blvd., in Seminole, Florida just about a short 10 minute drive from our old shop on the beach. I hope to reinvest in silversmithing tools and supplies soon to bring that magic back to myself and to share with others. We hope you visit us in our new location soon! Find us at 9454 Seminole Blvd!
Much Love,
Jen & Alex of Spigg Island!
